Epinotia caprana

(Fabricius, 1798)1154 / 49.229

General comments:
Extinct resident.

Listed for the Sandridge area (as semifuscana) by Griffith (1884). The only recent records are from light traps at the Fir & Pond Woods Nature Reserve in 2006 and Hanwell in 2017. Damp heathland, marsh and moor are scarce habitats in Herts & Middlesex - the moth has probably been lost.

Recorded in 3 (7%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2017.
