Hertfordshire Notes: This is another birch-feeding species that is under-recorded because of the early date when it mines leaves and because of the difficulty of naming most of the birch-feeding nepticulids.

Middlesex Notes: On birch Betula. Widespread and probably common wherever there are established birches, but under-recorded because of difficulty of identification. As with other species, population levels rise and fall over time and the scarcity of leaf mines in some years reflects this.
