General comments:
Extremely local and rare resident.

This is a species of oak woods, though it may occur in parkland where there are mature oaks present. Our records are Sandridge (Griffith, 1890), Bricket Wood in 1929 and Theobalds Park in an unknown year (Foster, 1937) and Panshanger Park in 1997 (Tom Gladwin) and Thorley Wash 20 May 2016 (Graeme Smith).
