Cataclysta lemnata

General comments:
Widespread and common resident.

The distinctive males are easily disturbed from waterside vegetation though females are seldom recorded other than at light. The caterpillar is air-breathing and feeds from within a case made of overlapping duckweed 'leaves' in which an air bubble is trapped.
