Evergestis pallidata

(Hufnagel, 1767)1358 / 63.060

General comments:
Extremely local resident.

Foster (1941) reports this as new to the county "Between Redbourn and St Albans, on the River Ver, not common (Fryer)"; no year is given. The next record was made when Ian Lorimer caught one at Totteridge in 1979 and there are then no more until 17th July 1991 (in my garden at Bishops Stortford). Over the next ten to fifteen years there were occasional sightings of single individuals. After the end of 2006, there are no more records at all until 2010, when it suddenly appeared in raised number and continued to do so for the next 5 or 6 years.

Recorded in 15 (37%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1943.
Last Recorded in 2022.
