Udea lutealis

(Hübner, 1809)1388 / 63.033

General comments:
Widespread but local resident.

Taken with a marked decrease in numbers since the 1980s it is clear that this species is in decline here. In Middlesex it is surprisingly local avoiding the urban area completely. It used to be found on brownfield sites, field edges and other ruderal habitats and the "tidying" of the landscape is probably responsible for much of any decline.

Recorded in 27 (66%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1834.
Last Recorded in 2022.
