Nomophila noctuella

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)1398 / 63.052

General comments:
Immigrant.

Recorded in every year, but there is no evidence to date of Rush Veneer moths surviving the winter in Hertfordshire or Middlesex. Our earliest report is from Cheshunt in 1867 (Boyd, Entomologist's Monthly Magazine: 286). At this date, the concept of migration in insects was unheard of!

Recorded in 34 (83%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1888.
Last Recorded in 2023.
