Acrobasis consociella

(Hübner, 1813)1437 / 62.038

General comments:
Widespread and generally common.

Whilst not uncommon, this moth is more local than both A. repandana and A. advenella and seldom as numerous. The larval foodplant is oak, but we also have records on Hornbeam Carpinus betulus in Hertfordshire. The basal area of the forewing is characteristically grey rather than brown or reddish.

Recorded in 32 (78%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2024.
