Acrobasis advenella

(Zincken, 1818)1439 / 62.035
=Trachycera advenella
=Numonia advenella

General comments:
Widespread and generally common.

This is amongst the commonest pyralid moths in Hertfordshire, but it often arrives in a worn state and is either not recognised or ignored by those who only look at 'macros'. Naming Acrobasis can be tricky if they are worn, though in Britain we have very few to choose from. A. advenella males can be recognised on dissection by the bifurcate uncus.

Recorded in 35 (85%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2023.
