Elegia similella

(Zincken, 1818)1449 / 62.010
=Microthrix similella

General comments
Widespread but rather local and seldom abundant.

The trick of finding this moth is to get high up in an oak tree; moth traps on the observation/deer-shooting platforms built in oak trees in woodlands should be tried, but the moth can also be beaten from branches that are accessible from these raised vantage points. It is likely to be found in number wherever there are semi-mature or mature oak trees in a woodland setting.
