Our few records are widely scattered without obvious pattern, which might suggest immigration. However, the text books say that this species does not migrate, whilst the dates of the Hertfordshire records do not seem to coincide with "immigrant nights". Thus, the records in Hertfordshire probably represent a small and rather localised resident population. There are no reports at all from Middlesex.
