Hypochalcia ahenella

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)1457 / 62.030

General comments:
Extremely local resident on the chalk; vagrant elsewhere.

Confined to chalky grassland in our area. It is a rather less than striking beast in the adult stage and may have been overlooked as a 'grass moth' by non-specialists at several sites (though few sites with good quality chalk grassland remain).

Recorded in 10 (24%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2021.
