Ancylosis oblitella

(Zeller, 1848)1467 / 62.053

General comments:
Immigrant/vagrant.

This is a saltmarsh associate found in the Thames Estuary in Essex and Kent, where the larvae feed on goosefoots and have been established originally from immigrant parents since 1956. All of our reports can be related to "migrant nights" or else to balmy summer nights when a number of mainly wetland moths are reported moving about the landscape. First recorded as a resident British species by Huggins (1956. Entomologist 89: 152 - 154).

Recorded in 11 (27%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1976.
Last Recorded in 2022.
