General comments:
Extremely local resident

A male at mv light on 15 July 2004 in my garden in Bishops Stortford must surely have been a wanderer, but other records do suggest a resident breeding population in some of the better woodlands of Hertfordshire as far south as the Fir & Pond Woods Nature Reserve, one half of which is in Middlesex. The larval foodplant (Wood Sage Teucrium scorodonia) is plentiful in many woodlands though not all such areas have yet generated the moth. Larvae were last found in our area in 1976 at Broxbourne Wood NNR.

Recorded in 7 (17%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1905.
