General comments: Larva on Alder Alnus glutinosa. After mining the midrib and leaf, the larva cuts an oval case measuring five by three millimetres in which to pupate. Larvae are evident from June to September and the species is apparently double-brooded. Local and scarce in both of our two counties, probably reflecting the scarcity of Alder trees, though probably under-recorded to some extent.
