General comments:
Most examples of Nemapogon species will require genitalia dissection for absolutely positive naming. Many records of species in this genus that were not so treated have been omitted from the maps.

Brian Elliot reared adults during May 2007 from an unidentified fungus collected from a rot hole in a Beech tree in Fox Covert Nature Reserve, Hertfordshire, on 21st April 2007. A large numbers of adults was reared. It is likely that this species will be present in other areas of the county. The current spread of dots is unusual - those ineastern Middlesex might suggest a measure of synanthropy?
