Tinea trinotella

Thunberg, 1794247 / 12.033

Hertfordshire Notes:
A distinctive species.
Our earliest report is from St Albans, within two or three miles of the Town Hall (Gibbs, 1889); other late nineteenth century records are from Sandridge, Cheshunt, Letchworth Hitchin, Harpenden and Bushey Heath and are given in Foster (1937). Modern records indicate a species that is widespread and very common in almost all areas. Modern Hertfordshire data confirm the supposed existence of two generations in the south of England.

Middlesex Notes:
Widespread and common.

Recorded in 30 (73%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1888.
Last Recorded in 2024.
