Lyonetia clerkella

(Linnaeus, 1758)263 / 21.001

General comments:
Ubiquitous and numerically abundant. Most records are of the distinctive larval leaf mines, but the adults are frequent in light traps and often recorded. The more-or-less entirely dark melanic form is recorded across the two counties; it is apparently scarce, perhaps not forming more than 5 per cent of catches, though formal counts are not available.

Recorded in 39 (95%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2026.
