General comments:
The distinctive mines on the under-surface of Hornbeam leaves are a common feature of Hertfordshire's woodlands, but the moth also utilises trees growing in isolation, in hedges, along lanes and elsewhere and is likely to be found wherever Hornbeam grows.However, it is genuinely absent from much of Middlesex where the host tree is often in short supply.
