Phyllonorycter hostis

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)327 / 15.047

General comments:
Very local and perhaps rare. There has been past confusion of this species with that which we now call blancardella discussed under that species. Just to further confuse the situation, a supposed mine of P. mespillella in a Wild Service leaf from Horsenden Hill produced an adult P. hostis. The need to rear adults for positive identification is emphasised.

Determination by Genitalia Examination Required

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.

Recorded in 6 (15%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 2000.
Last Recorded in 2021.
