Phyllonorycter coryli

(Nicelli, 1851)342 / 15.064

General comments:
Ubiquitous species - except perhaps genuinely absent from single figures of map tetrads in the densest area of the Cities of Westminster and London eastwards where Hazel bushes are absent.

The distinctive white mines on the upper surface of Hazel leaves in hedges, woodlands and town parks makes this one of the easiest moths to record - it can be seen easily from the car window when driving along country lanes, though it is advisable to stop and check before submitting the record!
