Phyllonorycter tristrigella

(Haworth, 1828)356 / 15.078

Hertfordshire Notes:
This common moth appears not to favour Wych Elm as a host plant since most mines are on leaves of English Elm 'suckers'. Only rarely are they found on leaves that are also infected with mite galls and there may be an undiscovered inter-species competition here? .

Middlesex Notes:
Widespread in the northern two-thirds of Middlesex but strangely absent from the south-west.

Mine: Either the leaf or a good photograph required

Recorded in 33 (80%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1885.
Last Recorded in 2023.
