Widespread resident.

On Evergreen Oak Quercus ilex. Recently discovered new to Britain at a site in central London, this species started to expand its range in the winter of 2006/2007. Middlesex evidently provides the focus for the population - probably as a simple consequence of increased foodplant availability. Mines were found in Hertfordshire at Ware Cemetery in January 2007 and at Bricketwood Common the same month and the moth has, subsequently, spread. It is usually to be found easily in parks, gardens, secondary woodlands and other places where the foodplant has been introduced.
