General comments:
Ubiquitous. Just about every Sycamore tree Acer pseudoplatanus examined at the appropriate season will yield mines of this very common species, though numbers fluctuate between the years. As London's air becomes cleaner, Tar Spot Fungus Rhytisma acerinum establishes on the leaves of some Sycamore trees; observations suggest that that moth and fungus do not co-exist on the same leaf.
