Phyllocnistis unipunctella

(Stephens, 1834)368 / 15.092

General comments:
The mines of this species are quite unmistakable and resemble the slime trails of snails across the surface of poplar leaves. However, they are occasionally hard to spot unless the angle of the light is appropriate and this may well account for some under-recording. Most poplar tree leaves will bear the characteristic 'snail trail' mines of this species in season.

Recorded in 34 (83%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1885.
Last Recorded in 2024.
