Coleophora discordella

Zeller, 1849547 / 37.044

General comments:
All of the Coleophora species in our area are under-recorded; naming most requires either finding the larvae or dissecting the genitalia of the adults (or both!). For this reason, notes made here are deliberately short, but will be updated on a species by species basis as information surfaces.

Widespread but surprisingly local. On Lotus. The larvae cause conspicuous blotches on the leaves of the foodplant.

Recorded in 15 (37%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1834.
Last Recorded in 2023.
