General comments: All of the Coleophora species in our area are under-recorded; naming most requires either finding the larvae or dissecting the genitalia of the adults (or both!). For this reason, notes made here are deliberately short, but will be updated on a species by species basis as information surfaces.
Vagrant. On Bladder Campion and Nottingham Catchfly. The Ruislip area in 1959 provides our Middlesex record and Therfield Heath, in 1985, is Hertfordshire. There are no other records. For most of its life, the larva feeds inside the seed capsule and it is only in the final stages that a case might be seen protruding.
