Hertfordshire Notes: Extremely local and rare. Recorded pre-1976 and then re-found in 2011 after a gap of over 36 years. Almost certainly overlooked, but likely to be found in very few places.
Notes from Plant (2008) Mines of this Nationally Scarce moth were found in a single clump of Meadowsweet along the track leading from the western part of Hertford Heath down to Balls Wood on 26th October 2002. Regrettably, in spite of identifying this specific group of plants to the land managers it was cut and burned by conservation volunteers; this may have caused the extinction of this moth in the area of Hertfordshire. The foodplant is widespread in the county and the reasons for the apparent rarity of the moth are unclear.
