General comments: Recorded 1944; re-found in 2017 after a gap of 73 years. Formerly called Pseudatemelia subochreella. A specimen labelled 'Barnet / Middlesex / 27.5.44 / S Wakely / Ex coll S Wakely' is in the University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge, and is the source of the Middlesex 'dot' in Moths and Butterflies of Great Britain and Ireland volume 4. Barnet is, of course, partly in Middlesex and partly in Hertfordshire, but it is my understanding that the moth was actually captured in VC 20. The recent record is from Scales Park, Nuthampstead on 8th July 2017 (Ben Sale).
