Semioscopis avellanella

(Hübner, 1793)666 / 32.001

General comments:
Absent or extinct.
The oldest Hertfordshire record seems to be that made by Barry Goater of one 'at rest on trunk of Betula, Whippendell Wood, Watford' on 24th April 1969. Since then it has been noted in the county once only, at Therfield Heath on 19th April 2018. There are no records for Middlesex. In adjacent Bedfordshire there is only a single record, made in the north of that county in 1990 whilst for Essex, Goodey (2002) lists it as Extinct.

Recorded in 2 (5%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1969.
Last Recorded in 2018.
