Semioscopis steinkellneriana

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)667 / 32.002

Hertfordshire Notes:
Widespread, but local.
The preferred habitat is blackthorn thickets and this may explain its absence from garden lists and from the entire of Middlesex? Although attracted to light it is primarily a dawn species, flying from first light to sunrise, which explains its absence from lists made on trips out, as most are ended well before dawn breaks.

Recorded in 15 (37%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1900.
Last Recorded in 2023.
