Stigmella plagicolella

(Stainton, 1854)67 / 4.042

General comments: Beyond doubt, adequate survey will show this to be an ubiquitous insect in our area. The distinctive 'tadpole' mines are likely to be found on every Prunus bush or tree in the two counties at the appropriate time of year - most frequently on Blackthorn Prunus spinosa.

Recorded in 37 (90%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2023.
