General comments:
Extremely local and scarce, though potentially under-recorded.
This moth is illustrated by J. F. Stephens in his 1834 publication Illustrations of British Entomology from a specimen collected near Hertford. The distribution pattern is unusual and not currently explained. There was a small increase in the number of records in 2004.
