Monochroa cytisella

(Curtis, 1837)728 / 35.065

General comments:
Local and scarce. Probably under-recorded.
Given the distribution and abundance of Bracken, at least in southern Hertfordshire, the apparent scarcity of this moth is surprising. The larvae mine the stems causing swellings (galls) that are visible externally and usually distinctive.

Recorded in 8 (20%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1901.
Last Recorded in 2022.
