Gelechia cuneatella

Douglas, 1852804 / 35.103

General comments:
Absent or extinct.
Hackney Marshes, 1 September 1853 is given by Stainton (1854. Entomologist's Companion). Moths and Butterflies of Great Britain and Ireland, volume 4(2) lists this as being in South Essex; for argument against this and in favour of Middlesex, see Plant (2002. London Naturalist 81: 154). Although the precise location is unknown, there can be no doubt that any suitable habitat has been lost from that site.
