Platyedra subcinerea

(Haworth, 1828)808 / 35.033

General comments
Widespread and common, in MIddlesex but strangely very much localised in Hertfordshire.
Can be confused with Pexicopia malvella. Both species are associated with Malva sylvestris and occasionally with garden Hollyhocks, but the larvae of the present species are to be found feeding in the flower heads in July and August - not in the stems.

Recorded in 16 (39%) of 41 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1994.
Last Recorded in 2023.
