Widespread, but rather local in distribution.
Dissection of a large number of 'identified' specimens has shown clearly that both this species and Anacampsis blattariella are not separable in any of their allegedly distinctive forms without genitalia examination. For this reason all old records of adults are omitted from the map unless specimens have been dissected.
