General comments:
Status unknown - probably a scarce resident.

This species was "split" from B. pinicolella as recently as 2022. Separation of the two always requires genitalia examination and, as a consequence, old records of pinicolella cannot be attributed to either species unless and until voucher specimens are located and re-examined. At December 2023, we have valid records of B. confusella, from two sites only - both in Middlesex: Buckingham Palace Garden on 11th June 2022 (Tim Freed) and Rachel Terry's garden in Barnet, on 5th July 2010, then 30th June, 1st July & 1oth July 2015.
