General comments:

Widespread and common.

Adults frequently appear indoors during the winter months and many others are found dead on the inside of windows or in light fittings. The larvae feed in July/August inside a seed pod of Broad-leaved, Marsh, Hoary or Square-stalked Willow-herbs; affected pods are fattened and with a hole in the side (they move from pod to pod).
