General comments:
Widespread resident.

This is one of the more easily recognised pugs, and it also flies quite early in the year when fewer than usual confusion species are on the wing. Although only locally distributed, the moth can appear in large numbers in a single moth-trap.The scarcity in Middlesex seems odd and may be an artefact of under-recording.
