General comments:
Immigrant and extinct resident.

The Orache Moth was formerly resident in Britain, but became rare after about 1895 and soon afterwards became extinct. Bishops Wood, Hampstead, 15th June 1865 provides a Middlesex record; the site is now occupied by Bishops Avenue. From Hertfordshire, we have four records: Haileybury, 'once' (Bowyer, 1888) and again in 1899 (Stockley); Hemel Hempstead, one attracted to a bedroom light, 7th August 1960, I. D. Woodward (Bell, 1962); Bishops Stortford, one at mv light 10th July 1995 (James Fish & Julian Reeves).
