Widespread but local resident.

Although other willows and perhaps poplars might be eaten by the larvae, Crack Willow has a limited distribution in the county and might in part affect the distribution of the moth, which is certainly at its most numerous in the Lea and Stort Valleys. Damp woodlands with suitable trees will likely produce these species although that habitat is increasingly scarce in the county. Perhaps under-recorded because of its rather non-descript appearance.
