Widespread but local resident.

Allegedly a former pest of apple trees, but in spite of being first recorded as long ago as 1834 at Hertford, (Stephens, 1834), we have no evidence for that in our area. Interestingly, all but one of our remaining records are made in the last 25 years, perhaps suggesting that this moth may be increasing in number?
