Apomyelois bistriatella

(Ragonot, 1887)1486 / 62.039

General comments:
Extinct resident.

Adults were bred by Messrs. Edelsten and Fryer from larvae collected under the fungus Daldinia concentrica growing on burnt Gorse on Harpenden Common during 1942. Foster (1944) notes that this was the first Hertfordshire record for the species; we have no reports since then - in either county. It should be noted that the species which breeds under Daldinia fungus on birch trunks may not be this one. The adults may be confused with other species.

First Recorded in 1942.
Last Recorded in 1942.
